Frequently Asked Questions
Red light therapy is generally safe and our products have the same principle as cold laser therapy.
Red light therapy (RLT) is a treatment that may help skin, muscle tissue, and other parts of your body heal. It exposes you to low levels of red or near-infrared light. Infrared light is a type of energy your eyes can’t see, but your body can feel as heat. Red light is similar to infrared, but you can see it. Red light therapy is also called low-level laser therapy (LLLT), low-power laser therapy (LPLT), and photobiomodulation (PBM).
Of course. RLT is safe for your pets. We have a lot of clients that uses their Light Pads, Extra-Strength Lasers and Light Switch to their furry family member, dogs, cats, horses and even birds.
If your pet has a dark fur, please make sure that the light manages to reach the skin of your pet. If the fur block the lights, the effect will be less efficient. If needed you can put the glass directly in contact to their skin, the glass will be warm but not hot. If your pet has black fur, then you really need to let the light touch the skin.
There is no such thing as overdoing the therapy because red light therapy is safe, with no side effects. You don't have to worry about overdoing it.
Our products have a timer and it automatically shuts off when the timer is up. The Melenix Light Pad has a default timer of 20 minutes. For faster results, use twice a day, and consistency is very essential.
YES - There is no contraindication to use Red Light Therapy with a peacemaker as it doesn't send electrical signals.

HOWEVER metal and artificial joints can heat up differently from the body, making infrared mode potentially problematic. If you have metal or other surgical implants, consult your doctor before using infrared devices. Discontinue use if you experience any pain near such implants.
Yes. Aside from the Melenix Red Light Therapy for Face, you can use your other devices. The Extra-Strength Laseer comes with glasses that you can use when you use them on the face. The Light Pad is stronger so if you want to use it on the face you may use your tanning glasses or any good sunglasses. You should use the Light Pad on clean skin, and then apply a moisturizer or a serum/lotion after.
Red light therapy can actually help with the healing process to injuries as infrared light helps cells regenerate or repair themselves.
"Objective medical evaluation of the patients indicated that roughness and laxity were fairly improved, but there was no significant improvement in hyperpigmented lesions. Histological examination failed to reveal any differences as well. These results suggest that infrared radiation may have beneficial effects on skin texture and wrinkles by increasing collagen and elastin contents from the stimulated fibroblasts. Therefore, skin treatment with infrared radiation may be an effective and safe non-ablative remodeling method, and may also be useful in the treatment of photo-aged skin."
